“I know he’s from Chicago, and I know his type. He’s like a frickin’ panther in heat. You get too close to him, you’re gonna get mauled. Maybe not physically but emotionally.”

“Good luck, Elijah. It was nice meeting you. I hope your heart heals soon.”

What?!! This has been an okay read with some things that didn't sit quite right, but I think it just went off the rails.

I've missed this -good writing skills. KZ Snow is a writer and a storyteller. She has the polished skills for a well-turned sentence, full of ambiance and vivid descriptions. Nothing wasted. No awkward sentences. And because of that, her story IS a joy to read.
