The book is full of interesting vignettes based on the life of an up-and-coming promoter who not only ruled the Pittsburgh area, but revolutionized the arena show in general. The jarring story softened in the end but I will be a little wary to continue.

I understand that it was a different time. It was still jarring to read. I think it would be okay if the girl was 100% into it ... which it seems like this girl was. She wanted to meet and date a promoter and she was paired with a very successful one in New York City. The fact that Mr. DiCesare referred to her as a gift behind her back to the promoter is what bothered me. The promoter even asked if she was a "hooker"

I am reading about a dozen pages or so at a time. This is a very interesting book and I am very grateful that Mr. DiCesare wrote it. I did hit a bit of a snag though in this last section. It is where he offers a "gift" of a girl to another promoter to get favors. I will continue in another update because I am running out of characters here.
