The resolution went unheeded, like all other resolutions affecting the situation in the Middle East...In the meantime, terrorism, torture and violation of human rights continue in Israeli occupied territories, and the United Nations appears helpless to command respect for its authority and implementation of its resolutions.

The Sunday Times reported: "In some places there has been sweeping destruction of Arab homes, i.e the well-known case of the 220 families whose houses were leveled in front of the Wailing Wall immediately after the Israeli occupation of Jerusalem in order to provide an open space for Jewish pilgrims. Since then, other Arab homes have been demolished in the Old City, w/o accommodation being provided for the occupants"

9/16/72 - The Israeli army crossed into Lebanon, & for 36 hrs attacked villages in 250 sq km area, killing at random & destroying houses...

But the ugliest scene, for which no words can be found, is the tragedy of a car deliberately run over & crushed by an IDF tank w/ 7 members of 1 family in it. Their bodies were packed w/ the wreckage..This will go down in history as one of the most despicable Israeli terror acts

8 April 1970 — Israeli planes, using napalm bombs, once again struck at civilian targets in Egypt, but this time their objective was a school in Bahr El-Bakar, killing forty-six children. The savagery of this attack far exceeds anything the Arabs have done against Israel.

3/2/69 - The ICRC delegate reported on the [indiscriminate bombing attack on 2 Syrian villages]:

"I was convinced that the atack was only on civilian targets. At Hame, a fridge factory, a sugar factory, & a few houses were destroyed. There were no fedayeen bases. The 40 wounded were all civilians, mostly women & children. The same applied to the 9 dead. The attack occurred at a time when people were leaving for work

To give a full account of all acts of terrorism, murder, destruction of property, confiscation of Arab lands, kidnapping and violation of human rights, committed by the Israeli authorities in the period between June 1967 and September 1972, would fill volumes.

If the Israelis had not been practising acts of terror, murder and violation of human rights against the people of Palestine and surrounding areas all these years, they would not have closed their territory to investigations demanded by the United Nations and other international bodies. The fact that they did, means that they have something to hide.

The Arabs of Deir Yasin, Qibya, Kafr Qasem, Gaza & many other places, who were massacred in cold blood by the Zionists; the nearly 1 million Arabs who were terrorized out of their homes in 1948 & forced to lead lives of hopelessness & poverty in refugee camps; & whose fundamental human rights have been suppressed & usurped; are these Arabs not human beings?

Not according to the Talmud, no.

On the verdict, the ed. of the Jew News wrote: "There cannot be the slightest doubt that the Gov policy of segregating the Israeli Arabs from the Jews & treating them as 2nd-class, inferior citizens, has implanted in the minds of the avg Israeli citizen that the Arabs are the enemies of the State & should be treated as traitors. This is the deeper source of the Kafr Qasem crime. The real culprit is the Israeli Gov.

According to Haaretz, "the 11 officers & soldiers on trial for the Kafr Qasem massacre have all received a 50% increase in salaries." The trial was a mockery to appease public opinion which was shocked…the Commander who ordered the massacre was fined "a token 2 US cents". The 5 who received a sentence of 7 years were immediately released, & as soon as the wrath of public opinion subsided, the others were set free.

10/29/56: The Kafr Qasem massacre was more gruesome than all prev Israeli attacks bcz it had the tacit approval of the "gov"…As villagers were returning unsuspectingly from their day's work in the fields, they were met w/ machine-gun bullets resulting in the cold-blooded murder of 51 men, women & children & wounding of 13 others. Among the dead were 12 women & girls, 10 boys between 14 & 17, & seven between 8 & 13

Upon arrest, the leader of the [Lavon Affair terrorist] ring committed suicide in prison. In Jan. 1955 the Egyptians held a public trial. American Jews were greatly excited, claiming the trial was a frame-up and another sign of anti-semitism. They tried to get the State Department to intervene.
The defendants all pleaded guilty…Two were condemned to death and later executed & others were given prison terms.

Father Gorman stated: "The only response the Israelis have made to outraged protests of the civilized world [over the Qibya slaughter] has been one of defiance & self-justification. The PM excused the murderers; Israeli papers openly gloated over the deed; & even American Zionists showed little concern other than a fear that American dollars might not continue to flow as freely as b4 into the coffers of the new state

Following a visit to the ruined village, Archbishop [George Hakim] wrote to Rabbi Herzog, Minister of Relig. Affairs & said: "I could not but ponder over these atrocities & ask what would the Righteous God—in Whom we both believe—keep in store 4 these crimes being committed by a ppl or state…

Common misconception: thinking the Universal Christian god is the same as the Jews' Tribal God

Will Zukerman of the NY Jew News wrote "the assassination of Count Bernadotte was not just 1 more murder in the long chain of terror started in Palestine w/ Lord Moyne's killing in 1944. For this crime was not merely political; it descends in horror & brutality to a new depth of moral degradation such as the crimes of the 19th century & even of our own age had never b4 fallen into. It stands in a class all of its own

It would be too lengthy a narrative to enumerate the different categories of crimes committed by the Israelis against humanity in their treatment of the Palestinian Arabs who fled their homes in panic or were evicted under a policy of seizure and confiscation.

The Israeli plea which the world accepts is their armed raids across the line constitute "retaliation"…Since it was the Arabs, not the Jews, who were victimized thru expulsion & dispossession by force, & who are being prevented from returning to their homes & property, it follows their efforts to retrieve them, by w/e means, should more accurately be classified as "retaliation" & "reprisal" against Jew provocation.

The only protest against such cruelty came from Israeli poet Nate Alterman who noted: "Jews have always been notoriously lax in their attitude towards illegal crossing of frontiers, false passports & other small formal offenses & certainly never saw them as crimes worthy of death" then indignantly exclaimed: "Oh you former passport forgers; you infiltrees, how quickly you have learned the new morality of militarism!"

Other "border" villages suffered the same fate. With conditions being what they were…it is no wonder that the Arab villagers attempted, from time to time, to cross over to "steal" what legitimately belonged to them, and in the process lost their lives. It is only natural for such conditions to create a situation of revenge by those who lost their dear ones after having lost their lands & means of livelihood.

[Qalqilya] was one of the most prosperous towns in Palestine, w/ extensive orange groves & one of the main vegetable markets of the country. The demarcation line severed all its groves in favor of Israel…its inhabitants helpless as they watched the Israelis gather the fruits of the trees they & their forefathers had planted & tended for generations for export, while they themselves languished in distress & poverty.

The new "State of Israel" was the product of brute force, created in violation of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the very resolution under which the Israelis claim sovereignty.

By [5/14/1948] the Zionists had already seized territory beyond that assigned to the Jew state. Instead of 56% of Palestine, the Israelis occupied 77%; instead of Jerusalem internationalized, it was seized & later declared "capital" of the Jew state; instead of Arabs being permitted to remain in their homes & country to lead a normal life, nearly one million Moslems & Christians were forcibly evicted & dispossessed.

Instead of attempting to atone 4 their past behavior towards their British benefactors, who made it possible 4 Jews to go to Palestine, or attempting 2 make peace w/ the Arabs whom they so badly wronged…the Israelis stiffened in arrogance & intransigence & believed that since violence, terror & bloodshed gave them a "state" in another's homeland & got them there, there was no reason to alter their methods & tactics

The Zionist leaders who planned & directed the atrocities against British installations & personnel during the period of the Mandate & later terrorized the Arab inhabitants into panic flight in their bid to seize Palestine, now formed the Israeli Government; while the illegal underground forces of the Hagana & its 2 splinter terrorist groups—the Irgun & Stern Gang—were merged into 1 body & formed the Israeli army

Wiliam Zukerman, editor of the Jewish Newsletter, summing up the situation in Palestine, wrote: "The flight of the Palestine Arabs, which created the Arab refugee problem, was not a spontaneous act, nor due wholly to the propaganda call of the Arab leaders as the Zionists have claimed all along. It was a coldly calculated plan executed by the Irgun but w/ the knowledge of the Hagana & the Jewish Agency

such operations were not restricted to Irgun & Lehi. "If we assemble the facts," says Yitzhaqi, "we realize that, to a great extent…Hagana and Palmach troops carried out dozens of operations of this kind, the method adopted being to raid an enemy village & blow up as many houses as possible in it. In the course of these operations, many old people, women & children were killed wherever there was resistance"

The second reason given by Pa'el is that the Irgun leaders still refuse to criticize themselves for the Deir Yasin massacre. On the contrary, they regard it as an "important event" and the "principal act that made the Arabs frightened of Jewish atrocities and led them to flee. Some of them have gone so far as to assert that the Deir Yasin affair was the most important turning point in the War of Independence."
