So finally we get to the last tale in this collection where Simon Templar meets the local constable who is of the Claude Eustace Teal variety who goes forth into some serious leg pulling and asks the Saint to accompany him while investigating an animalslaying that is blamed on a famous inhabitant of Loch Ness. As hé says: Lead on Macduff."

107 pages of 190 pages read so far, well into the fourth story in which Simon meets two of his old friends from his early days one of them needs the Saints' assistence against one of those people who dislikes liquor, which according to the Saintly rules is cursing in the church. And for those known with Saintly justice knows that trouble is coming to those who deserve it.

Highly amusing this version I am currently reading is the Coronet paperback released to celebrate the release of the return of the Saint tv show with Ian Ogilvy as the Saint. However the stories in this short story collection have been covered in the Roger Moore era of the Saint tv show. Knowledge for fans or as my lovely daughters tend to say: dads a nerd.
