Oh that was very VERY Welsh. I liked the way it ended, the boon she ended up requesting. Bless her for not choosing what her sister did. Solidly YA with a light YA romance (that could perhaps have used a little more grovelling but I suppose actions speak loudly.) Probably 3 stars if I knew nothing about Welsh history but 4+ because I do.

Starting Welsh on Duolingo now! So far a nothing tale, but I’m enjoying the language and culture and the way time in the fae lands is all mixed up. The thumbs-up made me smile.

Loving all the Welsh! I’m a bit torn about the audiobook… the narrator is Welsh and can pronounce all the welsh words and has a great accent. But she doesn’t differentiate the characters by changing her voice, so I end up imagining all the male characters as young boys rather than adults. Also the editing is not great
