"Today tolerance is regarded much more highly than doctrinal accuracy. We have grown accustomed to Christian talk shows that are rich in experience but devoid in serious doctrinal content."
Goodness. He wrote that in 1998. It's only become more true since.

Luther described the state of the natural [person] as "bound, miserable, captive, sick, and dead, but who by the operation of his lord, Satan, adds to his other miseries blindness: so that he believes he is free, happy, at liberty, powerful, whole and alive."
Nothing has changed since Luther wrote those words.

Faith alone does not save; only faith in a person qualified to save brings salvation to the human heart. Not all who say 'lord, lord' will enter into the kingdom of heaven. The Christ of the cults is unable to pay the penalty for sin. To believe in a Christ who is less than God is to have faith that is misplaced.

The amount of faith is not as important as the object of faith. You may believe that the ice on a pond is strong enough to hold your weight, but if it is but a half inch, you will still fall through. Conversely, you may have doubts as you walk on ice a foot thick, but it will hold you despite your fears.

The deity of Christ is the foundation of Christian doctrine. It's not enough to believe in Christ, but to believe in a Christ who is able to save. The amount of faith is not as important as the object of faith.
