the monster motif in 1부 is actually insane. conventionally, 윤재 is the real "monster" who cannot feel, but readers can't help but warm to grandma's "cute monster." and from 윤재's pov, maybe everyone who can feel is a monster. maybe everyone is a monster. because society empathizes with and even supports the REAL monster— a psychopathic mass murderer.
