I first became interested in this book because of my own upbringing in suburban New Hampshire, where people of color were few. This is not disappointing! Dr. Walton uses qualitative studies and interviews to understand feelings that long-time white residents and POC newcomers have regarding racial and socioeconomic dynamics. I feel like it’s incredibly relatable and can’t wait to finish the book :)
