There are so many times that are say thing like ”I’m this…” or ”He/she’s that” but there is no actual showing! They’re supposedly ”the best” thieves there are but we’ve only seen them attempt one heist, a poorly planned heist and a failed one at that!!

So far I’m disappointed this is nothing like Six of Crows, a Magic Steeped in Poison or the Gilded Wolves, as described in the blurb of the book. Nor is it similar to the Girl who fell Beneath the Sea as I had hoped from the cover and speaking about the cover I’m disappointed that most of the book isn’t even set in the beautiful, underwater city we see on the cover 🥲

The beginning is a bit slow…

”The Gilded Wolves meets a Magic steeped in Poison”?? With a oceanic kingdom like in the Girl who fell Beneath the Sea??? Now I may have too high hopes but I really hope it’s similar to those books!!
