This woman knew all the parts of him, the good, the bad, and the ugly, and she’d already accepted him, flaws and all. It had just taken him a little longer to figure his sh!t out.

Losing Lauren had been based on his decision. His actions. He was responsible for being exactly where he was, alone again.

Chase had always believed that anger & resentment pushing him forward made him stronger b/c it meant no one could hurt him or make him feel isolated & “less than” ever again.

But lingering anger & resentment made him feel weak b/c he was too f#cking afraid to open up to woman who gave him hope for future he’d never allowed himself to even consider.

It was hurtful and painful and it would be so easy to be bitter or spiteful over their deceit, but what good would that do me? If I carried around all that anger, it would never allow me to be happy with someone else.
