Why did the story and writing suddenly become so juvenile????

It’s unfortunately obvious that the author cannot support the vision she has. The writing doesn’t hold up, neither do the characters or their dialogue. Reveals are badly executed. There is no tension. The timeline doesn’t make much sense for what is happening.

Whoever said this was slow burn was a liar

The training is so random? A little bit of this, a little bit of that, and oh yeah we could do this too for a couple of seconds


The passage of time also doesn’t seem to correlate to their training

How unfortunate that her training is not much training at all. Soren simply… does things with her magic. She doesn’t have to explore or learn. She throws out her hand does as she’s told - and she’s not even instructed properly.

I’m excited to finally start this book as I’ve been putting it off for ages but I really hope it’s as good as it’s recommended
