Status Updates From Middle School: Big Fat Liar

Visualize: In my book there is a scene where the main character is getting bullied and I was able to really visualize and feel the scene. I felt almost like a anger and a feeling of being annoyed. This was how I was able to visualize a scene from my book.

Text to world: Middle school can be hard and scared when your first going into it. One thing that is real to the world is how big the people in 7th and 8th grade feel when you're in 6th grade. This is how the book connects to the world.

Characterization: The author of the story reveals many things about the Georgia; For example: early in the story he shows us how Georgia feels annoyed by her older brother who vex her throughout the whole story. In response to him she often talks bad about him. Saying negative remarks about him for example she talks bad about how he views his girlfriend. Georgia always thinks of ways to get back at her brother.

Antagonist: The antagonist of the story is Rafe since he constantly tries to embarrass,bully, and annoy the protagonist. The reason I know he is the antagonist is on page 160 he says "Yeah Georgia and her band 'we stink'". Rafe continues to call the band we stink in an effort to try to annoy Georgia (The protagonist) and embarrass her in front of her friends.

Static vs Dynamic: The character in my story is dynamic since she changes how she acts and what she wears through the story. For example: on page 29 Brittany bullies her for her outfit "'I don't think we know anyone who gets her clothes out of a dumpster"', these comments lead her to change her outfit to be more like them. This shows how the main character in the story changes over time showing that she is dynamic.
