It’s not bad, but I’m getting tired of the repetitive character descriptions. I’m pretty sure I’ve read about poor, shy, quiet human Charlotte, but no more, not since Karl turned her.

The way that the human men in this novel are portrayed gives me the feeling that this is meant to be a critique on the entitlement of men and how society enforced these behaviours. Only one of the human male characters I’ve read so far has been palatable for me, the others have disgusting views of women that make me cringe every time they speak. It’s going to be interesting to see how the rest of the novel plays out.

I'm happy to see Stefan's drastic character development. I've been on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what's happened to Charlotte & the lamia. These last few hundred pages have kept me captivated & while I'm trying to draw it out as much as possible (because its such an incredible story) I know I'm going to finish the book tonight. I'm excited but also upset I'll finally reach the end of this adventure.

I could hardly put the book down last night when I reached "Part Two" & my heart just wrenched at Stefan's anguish. Stefan, one of my favorites, is here & there whenever it suits him but after his twin's death I'm hoping that he becomes a bit more of a badass & wreaks havoc. As usual Freda continues to captivate me with her writing style & I'm completely envious & enthralled. I don't want this story to end!
