Pace has picked up, which is nice. I am interested to see how the plot ends even if I'm still not loving the writing style

My library book is like a month overdue so trying to start and finish this today. Feeling conflicted about this. I don’t tend to like poetic writing but the topic is fairly interesting. A bit repetitive so far and the criticism of colonialism is interesting but we’re kind of getting beaten over the head with the metaphor
