(after ch. 25) Okay, that was a load. A lot to take in. And yet, Zahru's decision that she made at the end of book 2... could it have actually been for the better? Could it have been the necessary step needed to begin a long overdue healing process? And Hen, you are an agent of chaos and I love you!

(after ch. 20) Well, that was a lot to take in. And Zahru's determination to win the war with as little violence as possible seems to be backfiring, but to what end? Her friends are worried about her, the enemy is closing in, and just about everyone is mad at her.

(after ch. 15) Zahru's not getting those apple pies, is she? But if Kasta is willing to create the ruse of spirituality to explain his "abdication" (and supposedly take a "vow of celibacy" for an entire year), then why is he dressing in such a tempting manner? At least the group is mostly getting along. Minor note, what exactly is crystals? Is that this world's version of poker?

"I am not the villain," I grumble. "I started this thing as a human sacrifice, I get a pass."

That line is really unnerving and rattling in the best way possible. And some of Zahru's secrets are exposed. On a brighter note, that tuska chocolate moose and prickly pear dessert sounds delicious.

(after ch. 7) That was... highly unexpected in many ways. Some of my concerns were addressed. But there is one thing I must ask. Was the Trielle magician secretly planning something like this all along? Or was it a spur of the moment decision to betray those she once considered friends?

(after ch. 5) And so it seems that the path of power is long and lonely one. Zahru's trying to force herself to forget about Kasta and just focus on being with Jet, but is it really working? That's up for debate. But why would Kasta want to help Zahru after everything she's done?
