I'm on the last book in the series. I'm eager to see how things end but I don't want to finish because I will miss some of these characters.

This is so good! Though I really hope that none of the dragons gets butchered for parts that supposedly have magical healing properties. I hate animal death.

Yep, what I suspected she (the author) was hinting at turned out to be true. I like those subtle hints just tossed into descriptions and paragraphs of normal stuff where one might overlook it or dismiss it. She's also very good at getting inside a character's head and showing how different characters view the same thing.

It's a bit slower than stuff I'm used to in recent times but still good. I love how she hints at stuff. And often the characters are clueless but the reader is like "I'm pretty sure blah blah blah" and waits to see.

It's been a decade or two since I read any Robin Hobb so let's see what I think of her writing now that I'm an "old fogey".
