A very engaging soap opera.

The whole HIV topic makes me set this book aside. (I didn't realize when I began.) It's just too big. Too scary. I am getting better at approaching this trigger-y issue for me, better since, say, the late '90s, early 2000s, but I still tend to avoid stories with this topic. I love Kaje's work, though, so this book remains in my kindle, for a day when I'm ready to go on.

In nearly 1500 m/m books, this is the first that has gone into any depth in a health clinic scene and, despite them being in a clinic, it wasn't entirely clinical. A+, Ms. Harper.

This book is breaking my heart. It's not that it has gut-wrenching moments of high drama - just the opposite, in fact. There are so many scenes in which secondary characters are just so... civilized while they emotionally slice their loved one to bits. *smh* I think this is more difficult for me to read b/c I can imagine scenes like this playing out in thousands of living rooms across the country each year. :(

Man! Nobody but nobody does the ups and downs of real like quite like Kaje Harper!

Forgot my Kindle at work today and barely got any reading done. It is WAY harder to curl up in bed with a laptop than an e-reader.

Oh man, this book is going to put me through the wringer, isn't it?

And I' m already crying. Damn you Kaje.
