Jaimie is 12% done

Being on the first book and on chapter nine, I find this book frustrating. It seems to rely on action scenes to propel the characters forward. The character development is odd going from "don't touch me" to sleeping on the other for comfort in only a few hours. The author wants the reader to just go along with new concepts without introduction or explanation.
