Status Updates From Get Me to the Starting Line...

Locked in these past few days to finish off this masterpiece. This book is a nod to all the single mothers who would do anything for their child. I love Leah. She is strong, independent, and doesn’t take shit from nobody - not even a 6’5 jacked Quebeqois professional athlete. The progression on this book was crisp, and I just loved how they ended it. The epilogue is even more beautiful and poetic.

Lots of yearning happening and I’m here for it! Leah is just amazing - she is your independent single mother who would do anything for the people she loves. And Julien? I love his sincerity and soft introverted nature - it’s cute. But my favourite character here would be Levi. He is just the cutest. Can’t wait for them to finally get together. I hope Julien retires and settles with Leah in Vancity. I hate Ian.

The pacing in this book has been fantastic. I really appreciate that the author didn’t rush the smut. The halfway-point incident wasn’t surprising, but it happened at the perfect time. I also have a feeling this isn’t the main conflict yet; there’s definitely something bigger brewing. I’m excited to see how the rest of the story unfolds and where these characters end up.

Sara Clement did it again! I would say I am enjoying this one more than expected. Love an enemies to lovers trope. The leads just have so much sexual chemistry, it’s about to burst out of them. Definitely a great book to read for runner noobs. Also, I didn’t know who Leah’s future partner would be. I initially did want it to be Mateo but I have to say I am very happy with Julien.
