It finally picks up about 2/3 of the way through

Disappointing. He spends the majority of his time on a deep dive into his feeling, so much so that it reads like his diary throughout. When he’s not talking about his feelings, he’s about his father’s high expectations. I’m bored to death!

Heartbreaking. Decades later and his agony still comes screaming through in his writing.
