Status Updates From Regrettably, I am About to ...

Have borrowed from a friend and gone in blind but somehow the first couple of chapters managed to not be what I expected based on the title and cover. It is, however, easy to read and I am interested in continuing. Maude is a royally spoiled brat (understandable based on upbringing but confusing based on familial interactions) and I'm baffled by her character, which isn't likeable overall at present.
