Also, it’s incredibly impressive how the author has managed multiple scenes from Ulrich’s POV without once using a pronoun for Zel and it sounding perfectly natural

Ulrich is definitely my favourite love interest thus far (Wim, you were sweet but not overly compelling and a bit too heavy on the masculine)

I get the feeling Ulrich probably won’t read Zel’s letter (mostly bc he already knows he’s there to kill him) but also like:

Ulrich: Excuse you, I may be a murderer and an evil dark sorcerer but I draw the line at personal privacy!!

I’m already enjoying this way more than the previous one

Ulrich is incredibly interesting and very sweet for a supposedly evil sorcerer lol (I’m sure he does have his own evil plan but ngl I like him)

I like Zel a lot too - he’s clearly got some complex feelings about this whole thing and I’m loving the gender fuckery element lol

Also Ulrich absolutely doesn’t care what gender his betrothed is
