Status Updates From Playing Without the Ball

Jay starts to play a couple of pick up games full court against Dana and he thinks Dana is super good at basketball a thte things that jay isnt good at. He thinks he is ready to try out for the school basketball team.

Jay meets a girl named spit and she smokes a lot. Jay plays a basketball game and there was a fight but he won 3 out of 5 games.

He says that his mom left him and that he wants to stay where his dad is or if he just wants to live on his own.

I would eat a meal with jay because his mom passed away when he was 9. Also, his Dad’s job is very far and can’t see him. I would ask him how he feels about his dad working far and can’t see him often. also, how he feels about basketball.

So far, i am liking this book because i like reading about basketball.

Julie is a funny person that makes her friends laugh or she sometimes make fun of her friends when she is annoyed or hyper, she said Cowboy wannabees when she was annoyed.

Spit uses drugs and she tries to let her friends but they say nah, because Shorty explains what drug is and she says its really painful and bad. Spit and Jay went to a restaurant to have some good pizzas with beers.
There are 6 guys in varsity team so Jay is joining the team.

Kaipo is five foot ten and his a point guard which is better then five foot five. He is better then everyone in his team and he is fast like a lightening.

This book has been very good. I love how the author has been describing everything very well. I predict that soon Jay will become the star of the new basketball league that he is currently playing in. I also believe that Jay will start becoming more immature because it would be hard to stay mature by yourself as a high school student.

I feel very bad for Jay because he did not make the varsity basketball team. I know how it feels to not make a team or be on the b team, and it does not feel very good. To add onto that his mom left the house when he was just nine years old. I could not imagine growing up without a mother. I really hope and think that things will start looking up again for Jay.

In my book, I am feeling real bad for Jay as he is really unlucky in almost everything he does. His mom left him when he was nine and said that he was just as bad as his dad. He is living alone while his dad is working at a restaurant in LA and finally, he was just starting to like this girl who is a singer and sings at the bar he works at and then he figured out that she's dating someone else and he was bummed.

Jay is a senior in high school, and needs to make the varsity basketball team. I ca relate to Jay because when I get to high school I would really like to be on the Varsity Basketball team. I am predicting that Jay is going to make the team because from what the book says it seams like he is a good player.

In this book, I really am enjoying it. The main character Jay is growing up on his own without parents in a rough town in Pennsylvania and loves to play basketball which makes him great! I get the feeling that he is really hard on himself because he is saying how he isn't very good at basketball, but so far, he hasn't missed a shot in the games he has played. The only time he hasn't played well was in the start.

After weeks, Jay finally calls his dad and tells him hows he doing. Again, his dad doesn't seem to be excited to talk to his son after years of not seeing him or talking to him

It's a story of a boy and its a week before Halloween.
