Status Updates From Burn the Water

There's a lot of similarity to Hunger Games. The war has been forced upon them. They've grown up hardened and worn. The protagonists are like mirror characters of each other, so their chapters are telling the same story. It's not a very productive choice - as if Gale and Katniss were the protagonists instead of Katniss and Peeta. There's also a lack of emotional connection in the writing.

This author seems to have zero concept for “show don’t tell”, and it is agonizingly boring and simultaneously frustrating. There’s almost a hint of a good concept…too bad it’s being ruined with all of the sentences.

Reeeeaally rough. Trying to give it a fair shake, but it’s so incredibly poorly written. I’m annoyed by page 2…and it’s giving insufferable
