This is now one of my favorite books of all time, 6/5 stars!
It’s a story thats beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. I have so much to say but i don’t think I have the words. If you love character driven stories and fantasy, you should just read this.

It’s feeling like more and more of a slog to get through this. I do like aspects of the characters and the world, but Wang’s tendency to over explain things, and her failure to create momentum in her sprawling narrative are becoming quite wearying.
