structurally this is v cool. i think it takes a certain skill to have very little concrete plot and still maintain emotionality through mood and atmosphere alone - esp with a somewhat detached narrator.
then and again, i do wonder if this would have been stronger as a short story? i think a lot about repetition and useful repetition these days, and not just reintroducing the idea but building on it again

i feel like tbh this reads more like a prose poem. it's doing interesting stuff but i think you definitely need a bit of context for full enjoyment.
i do like the pacing of the chapters - short, evocative.
