this started off really strong but the characterization of the protag has gotten a little off kilter and there's a lack of depth in the overall themes. i know that this is YA, but it's still a bit too on the nose for my taste.

- Protagonist is rude, but in a way that seems unwarranted. The author likely wants to gradually reveal her disdain towards the royal family, but it seems like she's "empowering" her female protag under the guise of feminism as opposed to actually having a strong character. May be too soon to tell. Initial thoughts only atm.
