Status Updates From The Book of Luke: A Novel

Half of me is obsessed with this book for the drama (gay conservative senators house husband goes on reality TV to rehab his image after famous cheating scandal) and the other half keeps having to take breaks every 15 pages because Luke’s decision making skills are creating the urge for me to bash my skull against a wall (if you are trying to win custody of your kids why are you making out with a porn star on tv)

Okay, at the beginning I loved how messy this book is with the drama. It reads a lot like reality television, but now I find myself getting a little bored with this over exaggerated story. I feel like this book should be shorter. Will finish this today and report back 🫡

Not for me. I’m trying to power through for the sake of book club, but I don’t like the book at all. Too many characters, too much degradation and woke themes. Hard to follow jumping from different seasons of the show. It would probably work better on tv than it does in a book, because I’m having a lot of trouble remembering where I am and who the current cast is. It’s trashy and low class.
