“No, William. Did you hear what I said about lions? A lion seeks an equal. But I’m not a squire.” His lips curved in amusement. “I was, but a long time ago. When I take you to my bed, I will not take a squire.”
Oh, someone's getting knighted tonight.

I started this because I wanted to see the sexual exploits between a lord and his squire. But the plot is actually pretty darn good. The short crime plot wraps up nicely.

I find this book surprisingly realistic considering it's a gay romance set in the 12th century. Like a mild Game of Thrones with gay sex.

I'm on the war path again. WHY oh why do some publishers get such unsuitable narrators for their books. This is set in ENGLAND, and yet has an American narrator who sounds like movie trailer guy. He is also quite robotic and talks too fast so It distracts from the story. I will keep listening as its only a 3hr book, but will remain frustrated.

Usual complaint.......It just wasn't long enough. :-( My favourite period of history though. *4 stars*

This isn't a complicated story but it's so well done, economical writing, and simply enjoyable. This is at least read #2 lol and I've listened to the audio, and I still enjoy it. :D

I think I enjoyed that a lot more than I would have talk about political intrigue (OMG THAT WAS SO HOT). Lucky me William forgets all coherent thoughts once he sees Richard, lol
William cleaned himself on the drying-cloth then crawled toward his discarded clothes and dressed. It was only as he crept from the bedchamber that he realised he hadn't warned his lord about the dangers awaiting him tomorrow.
