The author posted about her book in a Facebook group I’m in. She was so nice. I told her I wanted to read it so here we go!

I started this book awhile ago and am rereading since book two is coming out!

Pretty good book. I liked the worldbuilding and the characters. It feels very much like the introduction to a series (establishing relationships and ideas to address later), but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I enjoyed Mizu acclimating to her new environment and slowly opening up to other people.

The world building is pretty good but I'd like to see more of the characters. The explainations kind of drag sometimes

I’m not the biggest fan of the main character or the love interests but I really love the plot of a fallen sunken world with deep sea creatures. It’s intriguing. I’m committed

If I was her, I would hold a grudge against my mother for the rest of my life…. Like I would try to fit into my new life but I would never forgive her🤷🏾‍♀️

That was an interesting tour through the Arc. I like Fin. Still have no idea what he sees in Mizu.

Her anger is so valid. Like at times the main character (Mizu) gets on my nerves, but also she kinda grew up without social interaction so I understand her anger. No other context will be provided :)

I love the setting of this book so far! Thousands of years ago the Earth flooded, but the rich built cities under the ocean in preparation. The main character is living in the slums and has to leave the city (Boba 7) everyday to dive and hunt for metal scraps. I’m still trying to understand everyone’s roles and the culture but I love it!
