Status Updates From Sacrifice, Tome 3

Pigeon’s new armor looks great! I’m only scared that Kronious might betray him but I hope not. I can’t wait to see their fight! I didn’t expect it would come so soon but I’m excited nonetheless. I think this volume and this story arc has been my favorite! It’s great! And the art is fantastic! I cannot wait to read the final volume and see how it all wraps up.

The Foreman is alive! And I believe he had escaped yet again this time. But Joy was killed by Rokos, now that would drive even more I think. I wonder how much damage Rokos has done, it seems like almost all of the whole planet was engulfed in flames but the Cogoks stopped him. Soluna and the children are alright I’m guessing. I love Soluna and Beatrice so much! Their relationship is wholesome.

I love the art so much! The way Beatrice is drawn is so cute! I was so scared that they’ll take her to the chairs but I’m glad that she heeded Soluna’s warning. And I knew it! Fniff could see through his spores. Now I can’t wait to read the next issue and see what will Rokos do.

First of all, I love this cover so much! I think it might be my favorite so far. Second of all, poor Soluna. But at least Beatrice her about the black spores that come out of her whenever she sleeps. It never occurred to me that Soluna didn’t know why wherever she went death followed. That is insane. I love how Beatrice is able to protect herself at this young age. She has a great survival instincts.

The art of this volume in particular is out of this world! It’s so good!

This issue was so cool! I enjoyed all the chants! Pigeon being able to use Luna’s power too was insane! The half moon on his face in that one panel was so cool! I did not expect Kronious to join Pigeon to go to the Foreman’s factory to drain their power and dispense it to the people after going to the others and asking them to either join them or die. I wonder if Pigeon is serious about this though.

That was a very strong start to this arc, I’m so excited to see where it takes us.

I was cheering him on until I saw the damage. What a mess. But I still understand him. The words that his father said were pretty harsh but I (to an extent) understand him too. I’m guessing the hands that dragged underground were those of Kronious’s people. I wonder if the Foreman is dead or if he was saved by Father Pulm’s interruption.

I did not expect Pigeon to come back so quickly and to go after the Foreman but of course he did! It makes so much sense that he won’t allow this to happen. The Foreman using Rokos’s flying carpet and Anguish Blade was so cool I’m not gonna lie. But Pigeon is cooler! It’s a shame that he destroyed so much in the process of fighting the Foreman. And that his mother is among the collateral damage.

Fniff has something to do with the black substance…interesting. Can he see through Soluna’s eyes? Can he control her? Or is it a living breathing thing that has its own will? I have so many questions. That transition from his eyes to Soluna was so good. The art is so good! Soluna’s eyes are so full of sorrow they snatched my breath away. I find it cute that the coin of the realm has Soluna’s face on it.

Notes:
(1) The back half is a lot of death and destruction, and quite a diverse array of it.
- There's Old Testament "wrath of god" stuff, Greek pantheon-style personal retribution, a kind of Typhoid Mary pestilential death, etc.
(2) We end on a cliffhanger which, while highly consequential, is more or less expected.
- The bigger tease is which characters are still in play.

Notes:
(1) Kronius, god of labor and gears, and his minions speak in rhyme.
- These aren't very good.
(2) I can't say it doesn't make sense that the god of labor would be sympathetic to Marxist ideas.
(3) It's a bit over-the-top how Pigeon goes all rage monster to avenge a "best friend" he only knew for a short time.
- Granted, it's unclear how long they journeyed together.

Notes:
(1) So, I've just skim-read the first two volumes of this series. Hopefully I've processed enough of the story to read this volume without any major issues.
- Though I've had a good time with this series, I didn't remember much of it outside of a broad outline of the plot.
- Characters' names, for instance, required a refresher. I can't say I remembered a single one.
