Surprise it is in fact a retelling of Moby Dick in the truest sense, which means all the tedium that I hate in normal Moby Dick is also here! Only set in space and everyone is queer and fucking each other (like sure ok why not)

This is absolutely going back to the library before I finish, but this book is insane and is making me want to read Moby Dick.

i'm very surprised by the top reviews being all 1/2* because it's genuinely a cool book! judging by the author's other books, maybe the regular readers aren't used to this kind of stories. or maybe i'm the weirdo who enjoys sci-fi world building, philosophical tangents and the main character getting fingered by hot women every other chapter.
