Status Updates From Echopraxia (Firefall, #2)

as soon as they landed on earth a negative feeling of "what now" washed over me. like. they're on earth, and everything is fucked, and valerie is dead(???). i am not as certain as i have been that i will like the ending.

also lol dropping echopraxia this late into the book. might as well not have. would have maybe been better.

also how much of an author insert is brüks really. biologist atheist who is kind of pathetic but still argues he knows more than the demigod hivemind. is vindicated in his beliefs when the hive + lianna are killed. idk

whaaaat? has jim been on autopilot the entire time or just when he fought valerie? and yeah oftentimes i do not know what kind of space the characters are occupying, or how the ships and space stations move relative to each other. like did valerie get blasted by the sun? or by the crown's thrusters somehow, and if it was the sun then how did they not melt the ship.

not the biggest fan of how (at times) needlessly vulgar this gets. although i guess it's supposed to be our main guy Brüks having a different mindscape than Siri

s'dope

i am hooked. other books i'm reading right now feel like drudgery, homework, a waste of time, or all of the above, but this is right up my alley.
