Status Updates From Erogenous Jones: Private Di...

I'm screening this book my teen son picked up before he reads it. The author said there wasn't anything "bad" in it but with the name Erogenous Jones and saying its "filthy" in the summary... I'd rather read it first. The writing is amature so far.
I think he's trying to channel old private eye films and books (think comic book style dialogue) but for a novel, it doesn't really work.
