A1S2-A2S2: Great introduction of new characters and their roles in the lives of the Youngers. I also really like how Walter Lee is progressing as a character. He hit his lowest at the end of Act 1, but the usage of the money to buy the home will perhaps benefit him more than he realizes. Interesting commentary from Mama about living life as a servant. Working at CFA, I took that to heart a bit. Excited to read more!

Just finished A1S1: Great so far, I love the way that dreams are presented in different characters. Walter has dreams but is shut down by a lack of support, Bennie has dreams but fails to see other paths to her dreams other than her own. Great start. I enjoy the setting too, the beautiful description of the worn out home sets the tone and supports the overall theme of the book.
