I want to like this but the guy has no coherent travel plans or agenda, provides hardly any interesting or amusing insights about the places he's visited, and spends more time narcissistically recounting the various women he hooks up with along the way, cheating on girlfriends and wives at home. He has almost nothing to say about South East Asia. However, will finish it as it is, thankfully, short.

High drama stuff here-unexpected, so it's not just a light hearted comedy travel diary. But then, light relief with tales of neighbours from hell! This latest book of Frank's is a CRACKER!!!!

Frank being very frank! Memoir, variety, we follow Frank as he's commissioned to write a guide Bangkok to Bali. Fun and frolics, snakes, cockroaches and other horribles, romantic trauma and troubles, dilemmas. Immerse yourself in this and devour it until you come up for air!

Swept along, caught in the waterfall, danger, adventures in this book, right down to basics, at one with the nature, right in the vicinity of the disgusting creatures. Why would a publisher tell him to do that? And what about the serious health issues????? River Kwai bridge isn't what he was expecting-after seeing the film lots of times before, is that it, he thinks.

Can't even get a shower without gross critters and creatures invading on your privacy! Totally raw, down and dirty. Oh so Khao Yai national park, nature, creatures. Home of 195 of Thailand protected species of wildlife. Wading through leech infested rapids!

Cinema' showing-a film on a white bed sheet between two poles. Brought snacks around. He had what he thought were something like twiglets and they returned out to be dried cockroaches!!!!! Remember, it was in the dark. All these cockroaches, I just couldn't go there-glad I'm only going in book form.

Snake!!!!!!!!WARNING-CONTAINS SNAKES!!!!!! In Australia with Babs! Back to Samui in Thailand and touring the island by motorbike. Some of the funny-named food's that Dave has had. Weird spellings on menus etc like in Kevin and I. A bit of travel guide, a bit of memoir, a bit of romantic interest/romp-varied and fun and interesting. Good dialogue here between Frank and Nicky on the phone-easy to read, good pace.

Deer's penis soup? really? he doesn't try it though. Where is this he's staying? Why has he been locked in and what wildlife is slithering????? What a chapter-what a thing to happen, what horrible critters! Still no word from Nicky, he keeps wondering about her and their relationship, worrying over it. Magic omelette? Stars drawn in biro on it? That's not intended to be edible is it?

Miss-named Mister Queasy by one. Now a twelve hour bus trip that actually takes twenty-two! Clear colour photos interspersed in the book now and then. A bit of history about his father who had died when Frank was two. Very sad, very poor. This is what seemed to influence Frank's look on life. He thinks of going back to Anna, admits he's confused, doesn't just launch into anything without a care.
