My hunch turned out to be right. However, it was revealed to be true about 1/3 of the way into the book, so I can forgive the, for lack of a better word, “obvious” twist coming.

Now I was waiting to see how the rest of the book would pan out. Not even a chapter later the writing made me sob again.
