I had a fun time with this although quality wasn’t exactly there lol like it never acknowledged what happened with Arkin during that year he left to live with distant relatives in Scotland and it never discussed what happened with his evil aunt who was out on parole and the uncle who was gonna have his hearing but whatever I still had a good time

Honestly I have whiplash with how quickly they went from hostility to sweetness and gentleness. Like that shift was very very sudden lol but whatever I’m having fun with this

Oh yay this next chapter is Arkin’s pov finally. Hopefully not the only one. Anyway it was just revealed that his parents died in an accident so his uncle took him and his two younger siblings in and abused the fuck out of them and that’s why he doesn’t speak and is all traumatized. Now Zach feels very guilty which is great. There was def a sudden shift in them the night before lol but it was good

Ugh Zach is such a prick. I genuinely just felt awful for poor Arkin. His first day of college and he’s nervous af so he’s following Zach but Zach just humiliated him in front of his friends and gf and told arkin to fuck off multiple times even tho he saw how visibly anxious and nervous he was. So so sad

Genuinely what the fuck am I reading lol. I swear it’s like a pattern ever year where at the end of the year I read the most bizarre fucked up shit 💀 like it just always happens coincidentally

Whyyyy isn’t this dual pov ugh. I really wanted to get into Arkin’s head especially bc he doesn’t even talk. But what can I do. Anyway I’m barely in but I will say I’m kinda happy with how short/fast paced this book seems to be like sometimes I just need a book that will get to the damn point without so much unnecessary build up
