This may have just completely lost me

Soooo i had high hopes for this book and I do think I like the style of writing, the premise of the book like a lot, and I like the characters individually, I just hate the romance part of it? I don’t know lol. Maybe it’s the characters too. There have been parts I really like and I would read more of this author in the future (it’s a debut book)… idk I’m really not feeling this and I hate the romance

No because I’m just going to keep pretending I don’t have to read all of crescent city before October 26th…

⭐️2.5 I really loved the premise and the first half of the book. Unfortunately I felt like the book lost its way towards the end. I also struggled with the writing style at times, especially the constant use of phrases like “Not this. Not this. But that.” It became repetitive enough that it pulled me out of the story.
