Status Updates From Bloodstone

updating mid-chapter bc as usual i am reading at work & know i will get interrupted to say that i am a) obsessed w kane's plan to use bloodstone's power bc he's been immortal for so long he's just BORED & wants to do smth fun like roam the cosmos & b) impressed it took 140+ pages for any sexual violence to show up, considering the other book of short stories i've read in this series

ohhhhhhhh this is rly good: "she called herself a warrior, and in the sagas teres's heroes would have spat in dibeck's face and died with sword swinging. it was the way a warrior died. but sagas were for the night, when minstrels could weave heroic images from the shadows of the dead past. the day was beautiful, clear and bright with cool forest wind soothing her anguished brow. and teres did not want to die."

fun so far! curious to see how well wagner manages his pacing in this vs in his short stories (where it was great).
