I liked the plot and the examination of trauma and how it affects everyone. I don’t like the random talking, preaching and about random events that aren’t actually relevant. Show don’t tell

Why are we randomly talking about Covid that hasn’t started yet?

This is so cliche. If you want characters with their identities being important, show don’t tell. Like saying Irish temper, strict Muslim father and ranting randomly about politics doesn’t work. Show me about their beliefs or cultural don’t tell me
