Difficult and dense for me so far, however...
This is proving my theory that old fantasy is only called "boring" because of the writing style. This one is full of "thee's" and "thou's". And it is hard to read because of that. But it also has Paganism, Prophecy, Battles, and fantastic immersion. Not appreciating this book is a skill issue. And while I continue to struggle, I shall also continue to appreciate it.

From Myth to Fantasy
House of the Wolfings really reminds me of why I do this Challenge. It's like witnessing the transition from myth and verse, into fantasy and prose. There's literal verse in this as well. It's not amazing, but not bad either. It's very bare bones, as much of Morris feels nowadays. But while I'm struggling, that's more of a me thing. I'm just a modern fantasy reader trying his best, ya know.
