Status Updates From Sleep in the Woods

Frightening. Learning about the Maori tribes in New Zealand. In the late 1800s If you were arriving from England as were these characters you better watch out. Reminded me of American tribes. Scalping and war. Terrifying.

Have read a good half dozen books by this author already, but have to say this is off to a crazy start. There is some Cannibalism! Awful!!!!!! Otherwise seems like a good book. Hope this people eating thing takes a back seat. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I read this book one summer so long ago visiting my Grammie. She was a Dorothy Eden fan. I always remembered this.

This is an oldie but a goodie about early New Zealand. A gem of a book which I am excited to re-read it again!
