The author had a missed opportunity when they made a joke about being quiet. "Mum as a tombstone." I would not say to change the word mum to the French word m'ere but instead of tombstone they could have mentioned Egyptian burial techniques.

I think this book focuses on a middle school inventor, who must overcome his inventor's block that developed when his parents reveal they are planning to have him skip eighth grade, leaving his friends behind in middle school when he goes off to high school.
