“The Fenton Child” will be stuck in my head for a minute. Surprisingly darker than it let on. Really liking Gallant’s writing style, the chapters, breaks and whatnot.

This book was published in the US under the title "Varieties of Exile", which I have now purchased and plan to read.

I may or may not be able to listen to the remaining two stories of this collection before the loan of this library audiobook expires, but I've already decided I want to read the text of these and other stories by Gallant. "In a War" and "The Concert Party" are the stories I've not yet heard, and I'll definitely look for them. Unfortunately, this audiobook apparently doesn't correspond to any print collections.
