Status Updates From Safe at Second

Todd, one of the best highschool pitchers with many many college and MLB offers, was pitching during a game. Everything was normal until someone hit a line drive right back at Todd. It hit his eye, and he ended up getting it removed and replaced with a plastic eye.

Paulie broke into Melissas car. He tried to get her to help Todd with her SATs. She told him that he would not, even though she feels guilty about it.

Todd mopes around all the time. Paulie can not stand the sight of it, so every time they see each other they start to yell. Paulie said lets go to a party to cheer you up, Todd was confused when he said that.

Todd leaves school a lot ever since the accident, Paulie thought it was because he feels bad but it is not. He is tired of all of the people treating him like he is crippled. Paulie thinks he should stop leaving school to focus on his classes, but Todd says "I'll get by".

On the first day back, the principal welcomed him back. Paulie and Todd were sitting together after school and Paulie was too scared to change the TV to the world series. There conversation was really awkward and Paulie did not know what to say.

Todd was really sad that they took his eye out. Him and paulie were watching Oprah and were fighting. They were talking about his ex mellisa coming in this afternoon.

The doctors had to face the fact that Todds eye will not heal. Eleven days after, they took out his eye, they had to remove the muscles around the eye. After, they put a plastic ball in its place and reattached the muscles. Todd is still not awake from the procedure.

Paulie went to go see Todd at the hospital. He was glad to see him and when the nurse came in everything changed, he asked Paulie to leave but he did not. His eye was all puffy, red and the they eye was blood shot.
