It’s very confusing, but the part about Sednrid’s attacking was mentioned. It was good that I repress the prologue like fifty times then ig 😭

Less confusing! 😭 Fifteen year old king gets beat up by seventeen year old guy. Senrid almost dies then Hibern (I think her name is), Senrid’s girlfriend tells him he need to break into someone’s castle because the kingdoms castle is tryna attack them. I honestly don’t know 🤷

Every time the narrator starts up with C.J.'s obnoxiously-voiced nickname-y drivel I want to throw my phone into the bushes.

There are so many time skips and now Senrid and Shevraeth are rehashing scenes from previous books that were actually GOOD, and I am so outraged and confused...

Still slogging through and missing so much information despite the constant "As you know, Bob" conversations.

It's just... So... Painful...

What is even happening here? It's like all the worst isekai/fanfic self-insert tropes rolled into one and being played with a straight face and an audiobook narrator doing a bad accent at every opportunity and apparently I'm missing a whole bunch of background info... This was supposed to be a safe, enjoyable read for me because I've had so much luck with Sherwood Smith and instead, I'm dreading it.

Sherwood Smith's kinda been my go-to Tamora Pierce analogue/chaser recently, and I was unaware that Inda was set in THIS same universe. This is very clunky so far, so I am very surprised that it's a 2019 book.
