how is zane so perfect and patient i want to throw up

i cant express how i already feel about serene and her feelings and emotions and thoughts. they are depicted so well. honestly i fucking hate the men in the book except for Zane atm. the powerfulness and intimacy of just noticing and being so gentle.

“Even though I was sitting here in front of him, my mind wasn't here. My mind was somewhere else entirely. I wasn't sure where it was, all I knew was that it was dark. Like the blackness of the night, with no stars to break through the absence of light.”
