You really need that natural selection security blanket just to get through the day, huh?
No wonder this book is the one that won awards.

I love how blithely he goes about describing the fact that we're out here prescribing antidepressants without actually knowing how they work like that's not even remotely concerning XD

The hope for immortality cream reemerges once again.
Books about genetics just can't help themselves. Gotta have a few pages where they lust after immortality for a bit.

One way to tell a book is published post-2008: mandatory mention of Barack Obama, no matter how bizarre and out of place dropping his name might seem.

Wow, look at that, attempted communism spreading famine wherever it goes. Amazing. Welp, guess we better get started on that socialist agenda, it's clearly to the benefit of the people.

Oh we are FIRMLY on sins of the fathers visiting to the tenth generation territory now. These studies must've made many biologists cry, throw up and possibly quit their jobs if they weren't able to do the mental gymnastics necessary to accept the findings but deny their implications.

So... the short version of that is probably anyone with concerning memory loss should engage in social interaction, play games and try something new on the regular, even if it's just a little something new.
Not a big surprise. I found my ability to engage with and learn new things improved just from watching movies I hadn't seen before instead of just rewatching ones I loved.

I don't think interrupting the haddock leads to increased anything, it just prevents the haddock from stealing the hat. It doesn't lead to more hat generation in general. Even the analogy isn't an increase, it's just a prevention of decreasing something. That's... not the same.

I mean, sure, I guess you can toss out the theory that the sins of the fathers are visited on the sons and then not elaborate and just continue like you didn't just suggest that. Why not. Keep talking about memory. Sure.

The absolute mental gymnastics in this book to assure us that there is no design to be found here, just natural selection. Maybe you shouldn't have climbed into this quagmire, my dude, 'cause you're mostly disproving your own point XD

HOLY FAILED SOCIETAL STRUCTURE, BATMAN!
We're purposely doing things to babies and children that studies have concluded increases erratic, fearful and depressed behaviors in a permanent way because the genetic expression itself is affected by said treatment.
WHAT IN THE HELL, PEOPLE.
That makes it not just clueless, it is purposeful crimes against humanity.
Good job, guys.
