The consul’s self-destruction as a spiteful revenge described from his own perspective on page 83 is insane, great writing. Still too dense when talking about environment and asides in mid sentence meander too much, but great writing. It shows the mind can wonder (but real internal monologues aren’t verbal gymnastics). Great writing.
